Hoda Shalash- Barista

My name is Hoda Shalash and I was born and raised here in Lexington, Kentucky and my parents are Palestinian.

What am I studying?

I am a junior studying Special Education at the University of Kentucky, and plan to specialize in non-profit management, hoping to one day open a non-profit recreational center for children with disabilities.

Two truths and a lie:

I have a weird obsession with fun and funky socks: truth. I have over 100 first cousins: truth. I own 6 dogs: lie, I own zero pets, but the coffee shops take care of that for me with our dog-friendly environment.

Favorite thing about the coffee fam?

The fun we have when we’re all together. In every situation, they make every one feel so special and can make any awkward situation into a fun one.
Favorite way to drink coffee? either a cold brew with coconut milk and vanilla, or a filthy chai latte (2 shots) with soy milk.

What’s your favorite thing to eat on a “treat yo self day?”

Buffalo shrimp tacos and chips & quest from the Local Taco, or dark chocolate covered anything from Trader Joe’s.
